Cider (House) Rules
I got woken up pretty early today. Mom wanted to go shopping. Um, when have I ever wanted to go with her? Let's see...pretty much never? She was disappointed (okay, she was pouting) but basically left me alone. Last time she dragged me with her we wound up with mother and daughter pedis. *eyeroll* I still have this chipped RED nail polish on my toes. So like, maybe for a second it was kinda nice when it was all new and shiny. Not gonna tell her that though.
Basically that left me alone in the house. Dad's working from the office today and Bucket is out doing whatever it is he does. (Bucket - What's His Bucket, a.k.a. my PITA bro). So yeah, peace and quiet and I get free reign of the kitchen without anyone looking over my shoulder. Woot! Cider time! Got the kettle out and figured out what I wanted to sketch.
For like a second I almost went out and drew some flowering tree in the backyard. Yeah, no. Water boiled, so it was me, the iPad, and a cup of cider on the island.
I'm testing out the ArtRage app. It's pretty pared down and while some of its features are pretty sweet, I'm just not getting that accuracy I want with this stupid old stylus. Feels like I'm fat fingering everything. Still, this is what I got out of it:
Need to really study up on perspective. Pretty funny trying to finish this up though after I'd sip, put the cup back down, and was like..."Damn, did it again."
Oh yeah, so I was up pretty late last night trying to finish up a big project. I've been surfing on YouTube watching some speed paints. I wanted to try painting something from my own sketch. Crap, this digital painting was the hardest thing EVER. What even are these layer things??? Aaaaaah!!! It took me for-freaking-ever.
But, here we go...process pics. Done on Corel Painter 2018. I love that program.
Here's the funny thing, one of the YouTube creators mentioned that we should watch makeup vids to learn how to paint around the eyes. So the thing that I've never had an interest in is all of a sudden going to be something I'm going to be watching. Please, please don't let my mom see me watching them. >.<
Oh, and journal thing for the day:
Hasta maƱana! (God I miss Cali.)
